macOS DX cluster and TCI client

Mac TCI DX Cluster

Latest version: v0.1.3

Find the next station worth working.

Mac TCI DX Cluster brings DX cluster activity, radio tuning and useful logbook context together on your Mac. Filter the spots you want, highlight the ones that matter, and send a selected station to your connected TCI servers.

Free to use by GW3JVB, with optional donations. The public GitHub repository provides downloads and release information; the app source code is private.

TCIThree independent outgoing client slots, with unused cards hidden when not needed.
LogbookRead-only RUMlogNG worked and needed checks.
ControlTCI client only: not a USB/CAT controller or hosted TCI server.

What it does

Your cluster activity, shaped around the contacts that matter.

It is intended to sit comfortably alongside the station software you already use: a focused native Mac view of incoming spots, local logbook context and selected TCI destinations.

Your feeds, together

  • Save multiple Telnet cluster profiles and connect simultaneously
  • Merge feeds or view them separately, with duplicate reports consolidated
  • Retrieve recent spots and submit observations, subject to each cluster's commands and rules
  • Shared multi-select filters for bands, modes and continents

Three TCI destinations

  • Independent outgoing TCI clients for servers such as RigOne and Thetis
  • Choose spot forwarding and click-to-tune targets for each connection
  • Double-click a spot or press Return to tune enabled targets
  • Hide unused connection cards; two visible cards do not mean a two-connection limit

Find what your log is missing

  • Read a local RUMlogNG logbook without changing it
  • Check callsigns, DXCC entities and continents across useful combinations
  • Use Match any or Match all to narrow the opportunities
  • Watchlists, highlights, explanations and optional alerts help important spots stand out

App preview

Flexible layouts, with the operating detail kept in view.

Demonstration data shown. These are real v0.1.3 application captures using synthetic spots and an isolated test logbook. The visible DEMO and UI TEST labels are intentional; no live cluster or TCI traffic is implied.

Sidebar layout

A light view with room for the spot list.

Choose top controls or a sidebar, collapse panels, adapt columns and adjust the table text without changing the rest of the interface. This view deliberately hides an unused TCI card; all three outgoing TCI slots remain available.

Requirements and notes

Clear about the connections and context.

Mac TCI DX Cluster complements connected radio software; it does not replace a radio controller, logging program or the individual rules of a DX cluster.

What you need

  • macOS 14 or later, on Apple silicon or Intel Macs
  • Optional Telnet cluster accounts and compatible external TCI servers
  • Optional local RUMlogNG integration, which is read-only
  • TCI servers can include RigOne and Thetis, subject to their available extensions

Useful qualifications

  • Worked means logged in the selected local logbook, not QSL-confirmed or award-credit confirmed
  • Country and continent results use prefix-based estimates; uncertain results stay unknown
  • Spot at current VFO takes an explicit frequency and mode snapshot; later tuning does not change the draft
  • Review any spot before sending, and follow the connected cluster's rules

Download and updates

Install it like a normal Mac app.

Version 0.1.3 is a universal Apple silicon and Intel build, Developer ID signed and Apple notarised. In-app Help and GitHub update checking are included.

Download Mac TCI DX Cluster

Open the latest GitHub release, download the DMG, then drag the app to Applications. For an update, quit the running app first and replace it; saved preferences are retained.
